Fashion in the 1980s

Students are also expected to research fashion from the decade they are researching. Here is an example:

In the 1980s lots of different fashion trends emerged. One thing that happened is that movies and television programmes showed groups of people wearing trendy clothes. For example young people were shown to be wearing bright contrasting colours such as the lady in this picture. She is wearing a cool coloured shirt (blue) with a bright or hot coloured belt (yellow). In these 1980s these movies and television programmes were viewed world-wide. This resulted in people from all around the world wearing clothes in these styles.
